Hundreds of bowlers headed down to Southpark Lanes Saturday morning, but they had more than bowling pins on their mind. The bowlers -- more than 500 in all -- were participating in Bowl For Kids' Sake, an annual fundraiser that benefits the Big Brothers Big Sisters youth mentoring program.

Last night, the schools in the Faribault School District competed against one another in a Bowl for Kids' Sake challenge. Last year's reigning champ, McKinley, came out on top again, raising more money for Big Brothers Big Sisters than any other school. But the competition is not over yet! Faribault is once again pitted against the Owatonna School District to see who will take possession of the coveted traveling bowling pin trophy. Owatonna School District better bring it next week if they want to claim victory. Game on!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota is proud to announce its 2012 Bigs of the Year.  Dave Simons was honored as Big Brother of the Year and Georgia Vincent was named Big Sister of the Year.  Troy and Brandi Klecker were named Big Couple of the Year, while Lindsay Correll was named School-site Mentor of the Year.
